What we cover

Coverage built for the work you do.

General liability

The coverage general contractors and property owners ask for before you start. We add additional insureds and waivers of subrogation when your contract calls for them.

Workers' compensation

Texas lets most private employers choose whether to carry it, but many general contractors require it before you can work their jobs.

Commercial auto

Work trucks, vans and trailers, plus coverage for employees who drive their own vehicles for work.

Tools and equipment

Your tools and equipment on the job site, in the truck or in storage.

Builders risk

The structure and materials while a project is being built or renovated.

Umbrella

Higher limits when a contract asks for more than your liability policy carries.

Bonds

License, permit and contract bonds.

Questions contractors ask

Good questions.

How fast can I get a certificate of insurance?

Send us the holder's name and address and any wording your contract requires, like additional insured or waiver of subrogation. We get them out quickly. Wording that needs the insurance company's approval can take a little longer, and we'll keep you posted.

Do I need workers' comp in Texas?

Most private employers in Texas can choose. But many general contractors require it, and employers who go without it lose certain legal defenses if an injured employee sues.

I'm just getting started. Can you still help?

Yes. Several of the companies we work with write new contractors with no prior insurance history.
